Hud 11:67
وَأَخَذَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دِيَـٰرِهِمْ جَـٰثِمِينَ
The huge blast[34] seized those who did wrong, and they fell dead in their homes,
[34] i.e., a piercing cry.Hud 11:94
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا شُعَيْبًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَأَخَذَتِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دِيَـٰرِهِمْ جَـٰثِمِينَ
When Our command came, We saved Shu‘ayb and those who believed with him by Our mercy. But the huge blast seized the wrongdoers, so they fell dead in their homes,
Al-Hijr 15:73
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ
So they were seized by the blast at sunrise,
Al-Hijr 15:83
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ
So they were seized by the blast early in the morning.
Al-Muminoon 23:41
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ غُثَآءً ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
So the huge blast[12] overtook them in all justice, and We swept them away like scum[13]. So away with the wrongdoing people!
[12] i.e., a piercing cry. [13] Ghutha’ literally means the froth thrown out by flood waters on the banks.Ash-Shu'araa 26:158
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
So the punishment seized them[19]. Indeed, there is a sign in this, yet most of them would not believe.
[19] They were destroyed by a violent earthquake and a blast after Sālih told them: “You have only three days to enjoy yourselves in your houses”. See 11:65. Allah says: “We sent against them a single blast, leaving them like trampled hedge-building twigs”. See 54:31.Al-Ankaboot 29:40
فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنۢبِهِۦ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
Each of them We seized for their sin: against some of them We sent a storm of stones[11]; some were seized by a blast[12]; some We caused the earth to swallow[13]; and some We drowned[14]. It was not Allah Who wronged them, but it was they who wronged themselves.
[11] e.g., the people of Prophet Lot; and the people of Prophet Hūd (Aad) who were subjected to a furious windstorm for seven nights and eight days continuously. [12] e.g., the people of Prophet Sālih (Thamūd). [13] e.g., Korah, the cousin of Prophet Moses. [14] e.g., the people of Prophet Noah; Pharaoh; and Hāmān.Yaseen 36:29
إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ خَـٰمِدُونَ
It was no more than a single blast, and immediately they were extinguished.
Yaseen 36:49
مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ
They are not awaiting but a single Blast that will seize them while they are still disputing[14].
[14] The first blast (lit., a cry or a shriek) of the Trumpet will take them by surprise on the Day of Judgment while they will be disputing in their worldly affairs.Yaseen 36:51
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ
The Trumpet will be blown[15] [again], and at once they will rush from their graves to their Lord.
[15] i.e., the second blast or blow.Yaseen 36:53
إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ
It will only be a single Blast, and at once they will all be brought before Us.
As-Saaffaat 37:19
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
It will only be a single Blast[4], and at once they will be looking around.
[4] i.e., the second blow of the Trumpet.Saad 38:15
وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍ
They are only waiting for a single Blast that cannot be stopped[11].
[11] Fawāq: "respite", more literally, "a period between two milkings of a she-camel," which also alludes to "return" or "repetition."Fussilat 41:13
فَإِنْ أَعْرَضُوا۟ فَقُلْ أَنذَرْتُكُمْ صَـٰعِقَةً مِّثْلَ صَـٰعِقَةِ عَادٍ وَثَمُودَ
But if they turn away, then say, “I warn you of a blast like the one that befell ‘Ād and Thamūd,
Fussilat 41:17
وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَـٰهُمْ فَٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْعَمَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَـٰعِقَةُ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْهُونِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
As for Thamūd, We showed them guidance, but they preferred blindness over guidance. So they were seized by the blast of a debasing punishment for what they used to commit.
Qaaf 50:42
يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ
the Day when they will hear the Blast [of the second Trumpet] in truth[21]. That is the Day of Resurrection.

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَكَانُوا۟ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلْمُحْتَظِرِ
We sent against them a single blast, leaving them like trampled hedge-building twigs[13].
[13] The people of Thamūd were crushed like trampled and trodden twigs and pieces of bush lying around an enclosure for cattle.Al-Haaqqa 69:5
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ
As for Thamūd, they were destroyed by a dreadful blast.
Al-Haaqqa 69:13
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
Then when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast,
An-Naazi'aat 79:6
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
on the Day when the earth convulses [by the first Blast],
An-Naazi'aat 79:7
تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
followed by the second Blast,
An-Naazi'aat 79:13
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
It will only be a single Blast,
An-Naazi'aat 79:34
فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
But when the Supreme Calamity comes[11],
[11] i.e., the second Blast which marks the Day of judgment.Abasa 80:33
فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلصَّآخَّةُ
But when the Deafening Blast[8] comes,
[8] The piercing Blast; the second Blast for resurrection.
